Amazing Apprenticeships – Onboarding Kits

With a new campaign around national apprenticeships, Amazing Apprenticeships wanted to create an onboarding kits for all new students who signed up. This contained a bespoke USB which was pre-loaded with all the content students needed for their studies. Our team took care of all elements from sourcing of the content to creation and branding of the packaging and finally fulfilment and distribution.

We were approached by Amazing Apprenticeships who deliver national projects designed to inform and inspire England’s students about apprenticeships on behalf of the National Apprenticeships Service. They required 1000 tool kits to promote apprenticeships and these tool kits were for the stakeholders.

The toolkits were originally going to be in a A4 size box with a fitment to secure a mug, USB on a lanyard and posters. They provided us the brief and after a few calls the project developed and new ideas for the contents were born. An important requirement was that these needed to be delivered with the contents already branded and fitted into the box ready for our client to forward on. They really wanted a brown corrugated box, a light weight material yet resilient for the contents and delivery. Since we sourced and branded all the items they required, we were pleased to offer the complete service all under one roof. We even managed the distribution of the tool kits on our clients behalf. We like to be the best packaging partner for you, we’re great like that!

The art work was provided to us in the required format and this evolved over time as ideas began to fly. We love it when a client gets as excited as we do about creating their final projects.  Originally we provided pricing for 250, 500 and 1000 units so the client could see the economies of scale.  The initial order was for 250 pieces with a further 750 ordered 3 months later.

After the initial batch of 250 units the client was looking to reduce the depth so we replaced the whiteboard pen with a high lighter pen for the second batch of 750 pieces.

The timescales involved were the most challenging elements.  We created a critical path schedule and worked out which elements of the project would be affected by Christmas shutdown in the UK and which other elements (mainly promotional items) would be affected by Chinese New Year.

The project was well received by the client “Thank you so much for the amazing resources that you have put together for us. You really are the experts!”
